The St. Christopher Air & Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA) has sharpened its focus on safety within its ports in a campaign entitled, “Safety First – Prepare, Prevent, Preserve.” The campaign will target SCASPA employees, stakeholders and members of the general public in an effort to solidify a culture of “safety first” within every port of entry on the island of St. Kitts.
The Authority has strategically crafted safety objectives and is taking a holistic approach to making necessary changes to meet and exceed the safety goals. These changes include the collation and ratification of safety policy documents for international best practices and the designation of qualified Safety Officers at the Deep Water Port, Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport and Port Zante. Additionally, several sensitization programmes, including a Safety Awareness Week, an intensive training for stakeholders and staff members and creative safety-focused media productions, will be unveiled in the upcoming months.
The Authority has fully committed itself to becoming a leading provider of safe services and intends to invest heavily in the promotion and practice of safety procedures within every port of entry.
