Port Zante, St. Kitts – Monday 9th November, 2015 (SCASPA): The elite, Norwegian Getaway made its inaugural visit to the island of St. Kitts on Sunday November 8th 2015, docking at Port Zante. The Norwegian Getaway with an approximate capacity of 6,000 passengers was the most recent brand of the Norwegian Cruise line up until yesterday when the Captain mentioned the launch of the Norwegian Escape in Miami.

Minister of Public Infrastructure, Post, Urban Development and Transport Honorable Ian “Patches” Liburd and Corporate and Public Relations Manager of SCASPA, Marva Burroughs attended the brief ceremony and presented a plaque to the Captain on behalf of the Authority.

Also in attendance were the Prime Minister of St. Kitts & Nevis, the Honourable Timothy Harris;  Minister responsible for Tourism, Honourable Lindsay Grant; Chief Executive Officer of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority, Ms. Racquel Browne and Donald Cable of Delisle Walwyn & Co. Ltd. the ship’s agent.

The visit on board consisted of a brief plaque ceremony proceeded by lunch, then ended with a tour of the prestigious ship.
