In this the 3rd year of its Primary Schools’ Adoption Program, SCASPA is once again partnering with all government primary schools around the island. A SCASPA representative has been appointed to each school—the representative from SCASPA calls and visits the school occasionally, attends special functions, meetings, and encourages the students.
During the month of June, SCASPA provided the Bronte Welsh Primary School, Irish Town Primary School, Edgar T. Morris Primary School, Joshua Obadiah Williams Primary School, Violet Petty Primary School and Cayon Primary School with EC$1000.00 each. Each school used the funds to defray graduation costs, and purchase items for their schools’ operations.
Mr. Terrence Edward, Principal of the Tyrell Williams Primary School expressed his gratitude for receiving the funds and support from SCASPA.
“On behalf of the head teacher, staff and students of the Tyrell Williams Primary School, I would like you to convey to the management and staff of SCASPA our profound appreciation and gratitude for the generous contribution that they have made previously to our school and for this current contribution also. As we strive to educate our most important resources, our children, to ensure that they become law abiding and productive citizens we welcome your timely intervention in partnering with us. Again I wish to applaud SCASPA for being such a civic minded institution and wish the management every success in the foreseeable future.”
The Primary School Adoption program began in 2010 and continues to be an agent that contributes to youth development on the island and builds a positive image of SCASPA in the minds of the island’s youths through strong relationships and partnerships.
