SCASPA CRUISE TRAINEE PILOTS TO RECEIVE HIGHLY ACCREDITED TRAINING AT WORLD-CLASS RESEARCH SIMULATING INSTITUTION —STAR CENTER IN FLORIDA

Bird Rock, Basseterre, St. Kitts (Tuesday 21st February 2023)——The St. Christopher Air and Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA) continues to affirm its commitment towards the development of its staff and their skill set through the recent international training of its two (2) Cruise Trainee Pilots.

On Saturday 18th February 2022, SCASPA’s Cruise Trainee Pilots——-Kyran Pereira and Mauriel Knight departed the federation for the commencement of a 2-3 weeks course at the highly accredited, world-class, clinical simulation research center —-Star Center, located in South Florida.

The Bridge Simulator and Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) Training course will cover areas of Advance Ship Handling, Bridge Resource Management (BRM), and Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) amongst other cruise and navigation simulating topics.

Upon successful completion of the course, the pilots will return to the Federation as newly qualified trained pilots increasing SCASPA’s quantity and quality of trained pilots in St. Kitts.
