Basseterre, St. Kitts, Tuesday, 8th December 2015 – On Friday 4th December 2015 a group of SCASPA’s mechanics were formally introduced to the specifications of their new JCB Telescopic lift truck.
Dan Durbin, Director of Technical Services of Parts & Power out of Tortola, British Virgin Islands, met with the SCASPA Mechanic Department to explain the dynamics of the new multipurpose machine.
An eager Durbin expressed admiration of the St. Christopher Air & Sea Ports Authority for taking this initial step in an effort to keep abreast with Port and Terminal Movement technological advances.
“I am truly excited to show what an amazing machine of this sort can do. I’m sure the people here at SCASPA will enjoy it. “
Amoungst the group of mechanics was Mr. Esric Delaney, Chief Mechanic who expressed gratitude for receiving the new equipment.
The Teletruk is also known to maximize the use of attachments such as shovels and grabs particularly in recycling sectors four-wheel-drive. Acquiring this equipment will improve the movement of work which was usually unsuitable for conventional 2WD masted forklifts that were once used.
The new JCB Teletruk forklift is beneficial to SCASPA by way of reducing overheads, saving time and space, and improving the overall site safety of employees and customers.
