SCASPA sponsors 2018 Department of Consumer Affairs Primary School Quiz Competition

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS – THE St. Christopher Air & Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA) continues to support the development of youth, through education, with its recent hand of sponsorship in the 2018 Department of Consumer Affairs in collaboration with the Ministry of International Trade, Industry, Commerce and Consumer Affairs Primary School Quiz Competition held at the NEMA Conference Room in Lime Kiln on Wednesday 14th March 2018.

14th March, a day celebrated around the world as “World Consumer Rights Day 2018” saw four (4) primary schools in an academic showdown for the coveted title of the 2018 Department of Consumer Affairs Primary School Quiz Champions in St. Kitts.

The Grand finale participating schools were; Beach Allen Primary School, Newton Ground Primary School, Saddlers Primary School and the Seventh Day Adventist Primary School.

After 4 intense rounds of questions based on the St. Christopher (St. Kitts) and Nevis consumer rights, responsibilities and laws governing consumer affairs, the Saddlers Primary School manage to capture the title of the 2018 Department of Consumer Affairs Primary School Quiz Competition Champions with a whopping 380 points.

In 2nd place was the Beach Allen Primary School with a close 360 points.

The Seventh Day Adventist Primary School trailed behind in 3rd position with 270 points while the Newton Ground Primary School secured the 4th position with 90 points.

The St. Christopher Air & Sea Ports Authority takes this opportunity to extend bountiful congratulations to the winning school – the Saddlers Primary School and a job well done to all schools that participated.

The Authority was proud to make a significant contribution towards the quiz’s finale with a donation geared towards the purchase of school supplies and other stationary school items for all participants.
