SCASPA to conduct Table Top Airport Emergency Exercise at Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport

Bird Rock, Basseterre, St. Kitts (Thursday 10th August 2017) –The St. Christopher Air & Sea Port Authority (SCASPA) Management of the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport, will be working in collaboration with the Ministry of Civil Aviation to conduct a Table Top Airport Emergency Exercise on Monday 14th August, 2017; commencing at 9:00 a.m.

The exercise on the 14th will be conducted at the Ministry of Civil Aviation conference room situated on the upper floor of Island Auto Supplies building in Bird Rock and is expected to see participants from SCASPA’s Air Traffic Control, Airport Operations, Finance and Statistics, Public Relations, Security and Human Resource.

An extended invitation is also open to members from the Royal St. Christopher & Nevis Police Force, St. Kitts & Nevis Customs & Excise Department and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Civil Aviation.

SCASPA’s Airport Manager, Mr. Elsworth Warner, highlighted the aim and importance of this exercise,

The aim of this exercise is to test the various airport emergency plans that exist and to enhance the participants knowledge as it relates to the various roles that their organizations are expected to play in a real situation….It is also necessary for us to have these exercises done from time to time if we are to be in line with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards.”

Elsworth Warner, SCASPA’s Airport Manager emphasizes the importance of attending this exercise to “meet its objective in a very successful way” and is seeking the participation from all of the organizations / departments addressed.

The exercise is expected to conclude at about 1:00 p.m. on the aforementioned date.
