BIRD ROCK, ST. KITTS – January 7, 2015 (SCASPA): Passengers on private and commercial jets, who require VIP services, are now directed to the YU Lounge. This redirection of passengers comes on the heels of SCASPA finalizing ways in which it can provide a higher quality of VIP service to high end passengers. Commercial and private operators and passengers will follow the Standard Operating Procedures, for the YU Lounge, which are adapted to International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) security regulations.

Should commercial passengers choose not to use the YU Lounge, they will be processed along with normal passengers at the main terminal at the RLB International Airport. Passengers and crew on Private jets will not have this option.

The Yu Lounge, which is located west of the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport, is the only one of its kind in the Caribbean region and has already, positioned St. Kitts and Nevis as a preferred destination for high-end passengers. The facility uses the same systems as well as security, immigration and customs personnel as the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport.

Background: The Yu Lounge is a major service offered by the FBO that is designed to cater to high net-worth individuals who desire first class concierge service on their arrival and departure. The operations function under a joint venture partnership between Leeward Flight Service (a locally incorporated company) and SCASPA.
